Your Day of Redemption Draweth Nigh

HOLINESS CONFERENCE 2025

Key Verses:

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

“And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

‭‭

— Luke 21:25-28; KJV

Reading from Luke 19, The LORD for the first time in His ministry rode on a donkey and descended from Mount Olive, a challenge our LORD accepted. While at it, the people held in their hands palm branches and shouted Hosanna to the Saviour. The LORD did not choose any animal but a donkey. This happened to mark the end of His ministry on earth when the people praised Him as the One who comes in the Name of the LORD.

Riding the donkey signified He was the True Messiah and no one in Heaven, on earth, beneath the earth,  under the sea or anywhere can stand before This Great King. And here we are, even without a trace of our genealogy in the Bible; yet praise and honour be unto our GOD, a Certain Blood spoke on our behalf at Calvary for our salvation.

This donkey was tied down to a pole, ate, slept and did everything there. When the time was up and Jesus came into the picture, things turned around.  Today in the Mighty Name of Jesus, as our day of redemption draweth nigh, we will have peace to worship the LORD as He promised Peter but not suffer because of it. GOD has only two people on earth: You and I, are His possessions.

The LORD is preparing something special for us: something better than what Timothy had (2 Tim. 1:5).

If only we have faith as little as the mustard seed as our LORD said, we will command mountains to move. We have an even better opportunity to receive better things than the people of old.

While the LORD walked with His disciples, they saw a beautiful temple with all the decorations; the LORD turned and said,  “A day cometh when not a single stone will lay upon another". A great day of redemption has come unto us.

Beloved, we do not know whether there will be another opportunity as this in the years to come because the LORD is over prepared to take His people Home. Are your garments washed? Know that a day of redemption draweth nigh!

The LORD did not hide it from the people of Judah about them going into slavery. Those who were wise enough as Daniel tells us, such people draw strength from GOD and do exploits to the glory of GOD. The LORD has always been faithful to His word, whether positive or negative, He sees to it that it is established (Numbers 23:19).

He made it clear that a time is coming when there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars which will bring hardship on humanity. We can only avoid this by making the Rapture—the believer’s day of Redemption.

THINGS TO HELP PREPARE FOR THAT DAY

1. Whether believers or non-believers, we must acknowledge in our hearts that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and came to die for us (Romans 10:9,10).

2. 1 Corinthians 7:29—As the LORD says the time is short, may He help us to be like the sons of Issachar who understood the times. For the time is indeed short (Romans 13:11).

3. GOD is not slack as men count slackness but He loves all human beings equally irrespective of race and nationality. But, one has to open up him or herself to accept Him (2 Peter 3:9).

4. As believers, we need to draw lessons from Noah and his descendants. By GOD's Grace, Noah knew the time was short and so was able to save himself, his family and the animals.

5. We can also pick a lesson from what GOD did to save the Israelites (Exodus 14).

◇ We have a day of joy that the day of redemption brings—1 Corinthians 15:51ff; 1 Thess. 4:16ff; 2Tim. 4:6-8;

◇ The day of terror awaits those who do not acknowledge that JESUS is LORD and those who do not repent—Isaiah 13:6ff; Zeph.1:14;

There is a day coming. What will be our stand? Though the journey is not smooth, but this same GOD who helped the people up there in Heaven is ready to help us make it as well.
