WHEN THE SON IS LIFTED UP, EVIL ALTARS ARE DESTROYED

Key Verses:
“24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
25 And it came to pass the same night, that the Lordsaid unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:
26 And build an altar unto the Lord thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.”
—Judges 6:24-26
There are many altars that have been built and still remain in this world—both spiritual and physical. And great and many are the evil ones against the children of GOD. But, because the SON is lifted up, all evil altars will be destroyed!
Looking at Judges 6:1ff, The LORD was with Gideon, but he didn’t know. He was born great from the womb. Yet, there was something in the family that was fighting against him.
Some altars are fighting against many people to the extent that they even think GOD is not with them. Because they don’t see anything good in their lives.
But, by The Grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and the Power in HIS NAME, HE will destroy that evil altar in our families and lives!
GOD opened a mystery unto Gideon after he built an altar for HIM. He had then played his part before GOD unlocked the mystery. The LORD told him to first destroy the evil altar.
And, it was then that HE could claim Gideon fully. (John 14:30, Matt. 6:24 Judges 6:33,34)
What about you and I? Are we going to let the evil altars remain?
The Spirit of GOD came only after Gideon had destroyed the evil altar and built a new one unto GOD.
It is not enough to say one will not follow the multitude to sin, but one needs to do what needs to be done—destroying and eradicating evil altars and building up new ones in CHRIST JESUS our LORD.
But, we must remember that, before arriving at this newness, there has to deliverance which only our SAVIOUR is ready to give if only we will ask HIM (2 Cor 5:17).
