Key Verses:
“27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.”
—John 12:27-33, KJV
The facts found in the text above tells us of how the SON OF GOD will end HIS ministry on earth, how HE will defeat the enemy and his entourage and finally, the victory the SON OF GOD will win for us.
The Glory of GOD is the very character that reflects HIS entire Being. HIS Glory emphasises all the other attributes of GOD—HIS Righteous, Beauty, Love, Power, Might, Kindness, Greatness, Holiness etc.
But, GOD does not share HIS glory with any man (Isaiah 43:7). But for the sake of HIS, HE gives us the chance to be like HIM and share in HIS Glory (Gen. 1:26). Hallelujah!
Facts:
• Because Adam and Eve had HIS glory, HE gave them the Garden of Eden. HE provided for them: food, shelter, protection, fellowship, etc.
• Adam and Eve lacked nothing until they welcomed sin, and they forfeited it all. They did not cherish the Glory GOD had clothed them with (Rom. 3:23).
• This act of theirs affected the entire world even into our dispensation. The couple hid themselves because they couldn’t stand the Glory of GOD anymore.
• Adam's nakedness was beyond the absence of clothes. He lost the covering of GOD which signified authority, protection, glory, greatness and shield. In a word, he lost everything (John 1:14).
The Good News is that:
• With this Glory, HE finished HIS Ministry here on earth. HE worked with it and fulfilled HIS purpose. Also, HE demanded the Glory as HIS reward (John 17.4-5). For without that Glory, no one can enter Heaven.
• HE wants to let us be partakers of the Glory HE brought and not have it to Himself alone (John 17:22).
• The Glory of GOD is purposely to transform us so we will be restored to the very Image of GOD (2 Cor. 3:18).
• We will be fully glorified at the end of time in the Very Presence of GOD (Col. 3:4).
• In Heaven, we shall walk and do everything in The Glory of GOD (Rev. 21.23-26).
So why wait any longer, beloved? This Glory is free to be claimed by all who are willing and come to the Uplifted SON with contrite hearts.
Let us not tarry any longer, but grasp the opportunity we have been Mercifully given. And GOD’S Glory will be seen in our lives—now and forever more!
