STAY FOCUSED ON CHRIST
Updated: Aug 17

Key Verses:
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted.
The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”
— Psalm 46:1-7; KJV
In this new week and phase of life, many will be the plots of the evil one. Many distractions, challenges and problems will come our way. But let us be focused on our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
There are some who did not stay focused and ended up in destruction.
Samson: Gifted by GOD with supernatural strength but he did not stay focused on ADONAI—We must remain focused. Judges 16:15-17;
We have gotten used to hearing and saying, Have a Happy Day, Week, Month or Year, but one could begin and might never come to an end when the world ends. Let stay focused on CHRIST.
King David: In just a moment of losing sight of what is real, he lost touch with GOD and fell into sin.
“And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”
— 2 Samuel 11:1-3; KJV
Adam and Eve: They lost focus and thereby, lost their wonderful Eden.
“And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
— Genesis 3:22-24; KJV
Beloved, below is an excerpt from Seneca Sodi’s book, of an interview with Adam and Eve. It tells us of the sad state that they found themselves in after they lost focus and disobeyed the command of GOD. It is a sad thing:
"Oh, Adam and Eve, tell us of your early experience in the world.”
"Certainly," said Adam, "with pleasure," and Eve made a lovely bow of assent.
"Well to begin: The garden where we were first placed was a lovely home indeed. No grander place could ever be found upon the earth. I have had descriptions of all kinds of earthly gardens, but nothing equaled paradise. Everything was perfectly delightful.
Fruits of all kinds were ripening and hanging ready to our hand. Nothing forbidden to us but one tree. But, oh, that sin I never can forget it! What penalties followed our disobedience! The shame, disgrace and alienation from God!
It was a sad day when God sent us out to till the ground and dig for ourselves. After we heard our sentence, we were very reluctant to leave, so there came two of the angels with scourges in their hands and without parleying they drove us out.
Oh, the sorrow and tears of that day! The angels had already told us of the tree of life, and its marvelous imparting virtues. The whole garden was charged and filled with the aroma of this tree. The very breezes and atmosphere were surcharged with life, but death was creeping upon us.
We felt the chill and pall of a terrible stroke. We were simply out of harmony with our environments. The curse of death was upon us, and God sent us out to till the ground which He had likewise cursed."
The enemy is so furious like an unfed hungry dog, seeking to devour us. Please let us stay focused on our LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.
The Apostle Paul: By GOD’S Grace, he remained focused. He did not confer with flesh and blood when he heard the call of the LORD.
“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:”
— Galatians 1:15-16; KJV
One thing we ought to bear in mind is that there are several Jezebels and Delilahs out there who would want to take away the precious things the LORD has given unto us. Money, fame, popularity and so many things the world has to offer are right at the corner, ever ready to take our focus off our LORD JESUS and our goal, which is, to make it to Heaven.
The enemy who missed his first estate does not want anyone to make it to Heaven. The devil has unleashed several demons to track and bring down Christians. It will take only those who have their focus on CHRIST to overcome.
There are several traps set for Christians in these last days. Everyone who is determined to make it to Heaven must know that the Holiness required to make it into the Holy City is not easy.
GOD ALMIGHTY will never lower HIS Standard for anyone, regardless of the person’s position, wealth, or social status. It's time for us to ask the LORD to help us cling to HIM and focus our hearts and minds on HIM no matter the situation we find ourselves in.
The LORD will help us through it all.
Amen.
— THE HOLY SPIRIT and Mrs. Glory-Marie Kuranchie

Looking unto JESUS the author and finisher of our faith, let's keep setting our affection on the things above, and fear not and be anxious for nothing, for His plans to us-ward are good and not evil. By the grace of the LORD we shall walk sheepishly with Him and the promised land shall soon be ours, 'cause all His promises in Him are yeah and Amen. It's very challenging but we shall make it with the help of the LORD.
